Getting to Prague:

Snowstorm at the Munich airport Getting to Prague from New Zealand is pretty easy, it just takes forever (37 hours). And it takes 4 airplanes.

Starting in Wellington, I flew to Auckland, then to Hong Kong, then to Munich, then to Prague (Here is the 11,770 mile flight path).

For about $2,800 NZD, I flew on Air New Zeland from Wellington to Hong Kong and on Lufthansa from Hong Kong to Prague. I have flown on both airlines before, and am quite pleased with both of their economy services (I flew business class from LA to Amman via Frankfurt one time on Lufthansa and it was very nice).

Prague is located about equidistant from Germany and Poland in West-Central Czech Republic (formerly Czechoslovakia):

US citizens are allowed to stay in the Czech Republic as tourists for up to 30 days with a valid passport (no visas needed).
