I took some camera gear to Prague:
There were a few times that I wished I had had something wider than a 20mm (like a 14mm?), and there was one or two times I wish I would have had my 300mm, but for about 99% of the time what I had was wonderful. I forgot to bring a polarizing filter, and needed it a few times, but not having one didn't cripple me or anything. I used a 3-stop ND Graduated filter for sunset shots several times, I wish I would have had a 2-stop one as well. I carried all of this stuff around in a LowePro Orion Pro soft-sided briefcase that I purchased for the trip. It was absolutely perfect for carrying all the gear, and was MUCH better than a backpack would have been (for me). The tripod (4.8lbs) and ball head (2lbs) combo was great to work with, pretty easy to carry, but could have been a bit lighter...
The weather was between 15°F and 38°F and it snowed much of the time (5 out of 12 days). The F100 performed flawlessly, even after being out in the cold for 5-6 hours at a time. I did notice that my batteries drained much faster than normal (espeically during the cold nights), but I always had spares with me. I think I changed batteries three times in 12 days.
Upon retruning home, I sold one of my camera bodies and two lenses (including the 20/2.8) and purchased a 17-35/2.8...
